HIV Group

Today we would like to introduce you to the team behind our HIV project in Mulanje, Malawi. This group of people living with HIV is not just a self-help group in the European sense – its members also actively support one another through the worst phases of the illness. Alongside providing care, the group runs an income-generating activity to finance medication and treatment for those who can no longer work because of their illness. Ansbach für Malawi supported the establishment of a pig farm and oversees the project on the ground together with Wyson Phillipo.
Ansbach für Malawi has been supporting the group since 2015 and has, among other things, co-organized and co-financed the establishment of a pig-breeding operation. Despite all the problems with knowledge transfer, despite the difficult illness and the turnover within the group, the group is still active!
