Into the water, get set, quack!

The leisurely Rezat river hadn’t seen this much life in a long time: on the Sunday of the Old Town Festival, we sent 250 colorful plastic ducks racing between the Brücken-Center and the Theatersteg footbridge, and raffled off the racing ducks’ starting numbers to support our projects in Malawi. Throughout the entire Old Town Festival week beforehand, we had already been promoting the event in the city center – and, of course, our association. Hardly anyone, young or old, could say no to a photo with our mascot Grüßbert!
In the end, the race was a great success, bringing in around 800 euros in donations for our association. The weather was also still kind to us and the spectators in front of the Reitbahn during the race – the raffle drawing on the small Schlossplatz then took place in pouring rain. Our special thanks go to the team from the “Kulturgärtla,” who not only supported us by selling our raffle tickets – they even donated part of their tips to our good cause. Absolutely fantastic!
